Background
It all started when…
Issa Vibe Adventures, LLC. was established in July 2017 by Lisa Colvin, Charles Gbenyon, Jr. and Ali Steele. We came together as a group of friends just looking to escape the city and explore the mountains in search of a well known waterfall. The experience was absolutely amazing but we quickly noticed we didn’t see anymore black people on the trail besides ourselves. Absolutely none… We then knew we had a job to do. We documented every aspect of the hike and posted on social media. In this day, social media has become a large asset in exposure to new things. We dove in head first and made it our mission to reconnect black people back to nature. And in that moment, Issa Vibe Adventures was born.
Issa Vibe was founded on the principles of exposing black people to various outdoor activities that are not very common for our demographic. We yearn to diversify nature through visuals, engagement, and making our people feel welcome and comfortable in nature. Since establishment, Issa Vibe has incorporated various other activities that our community can benefit from.
Community Unity
It is a common goal for all of us to improve the lives of disadvantaged individuals and groups by facilitating group activities that tackle the multiple problems that face our community such as hunger, homelessness, nutrition and sustainability. Our Mission
Our mission is to make nature a preferred destination for all people by exposing black people to various indoor and outdoor activities. All the while, providing a welcoming, loving, safe and fun atmosphere.
